Stuck Mojo were pioneers of the rap metal genre long before it went mainstream — and with 2000’s Declaration of a Headhunter, they doubled down on everything that made them unique: crushing riffs, no-filter lyrics, and an unshakable southern swagger. This was their final album with original vocalist Bonz, and it shows a band not only evolving, but firing on all cylinders with nothing to lose.
This record is far heavier and darker than their earlier material, leaving behind much of the funk influence in favor of punishing grooves and metallic muscle. Guitarist Rich Ward delivers some of his tightest and angriest riffs to date, while Bonz spits pure venom — raging against fake friends, the music industry, and societal rot. It’s a deeply personal album that also speaks universally to disillusionment and resistance.
From the opening blast of “Raise the Dead Man” to the grinding stomp of “Hatebreed,” the politically charged “Home” and the emotionally raw “The Ward Is My Shepherd,” every track is a war cry. The production is tight, the grooves hit hard, and the energy is off the charts.
Whether you’re into Pantera, Biohazard, or early Slipknot, this is essential crossover material. It’s a snapshot of late-’90s angst done right — unfiltered, street-level, and built to break stages.
