B.U.S.H. – New American Century is a 21-track sonic middle finger to complacency, boredom, and fake punk posturing. Formed in São Paulo, Brazil around 2004, B.U.S.H. (short for Buy Us Some Heroin) came out swinging with members from I SHOT CYRUS and other key bands from the Brazilian hardcore underground. What they deliver here is a perfect cocktail of ’82-style hardcore, garage rock swagger, and some chaotic thrashcore attitude thrown in just to piss off your neighbors.
Imagine if WASTED YOUTH, JFA, and The Stooges got locked in a room with a crate of cachaça and nothing to do but blast out distorted riffs — that’s the vibe. The songs are short, dirty, and loaded with energy. You’ll hear bursts of d-beat and raw punk fury, but also swaggering guitar licks and moments of ragged, old-school rock influence that separate this from your average fastcore record.
There’s no polish here — just fuzzed-out riffs, manic vocals, basement-quality production (in a good way), and a serious sense of urgency. The lyrics hit hard with political and personal frustration, channeling the chaos of mid-2000s global anxiety into a record that still feels completely relevant.
Released in 2006 through four powerhouse DIY labels — 625 Thrashcore, Peculio Discos, Waking the Dead, and Thrashbastard — this one is built for collectors, crust punks, and hardcore freaks who want their vinyl to sound like a brick through a riot cop’s windshield.
